Resident in psychotherapy
Mutual respect and trust are important in the doctor-psychiatrist-patient relationship. The specialist, based on the acquired knowledge and experience, performs mental health assessment, psychoeducation and adapts treatment to the identified disorders. The treatment plan is drawn up individually, referring to the needs of each patient. Patients may find it intimidating to reveal their personal experiences and feelings, so there is considerable confidentiality in the doctor's office. I believe that the psychoeducation or education of patients and society about mental health, disorders and their prevention is especially important in order to reduce prejudices and that mental health would be as important to an increasing part of society as physical and social well-being.
